Make we break am down: For the year wey pass (2019), na 339 Nigerians dem carry waka go. In 2020, e drop small to 302, then 2021; e drop again to 242, followed by 199 in 2022. But come 2025, dem don carry 366 Nigerians run wahala again! Na 8% increase wey no suppose fit make sense but e don happen make we no go lie!

Nigeria come back join the top 10 countries wey dem dey deport from Canada this year, after two years wey we no even dey hear their name for inside that list. Abeg, wetin dey happen? Canadians dey serious now oh! Dem dey remove almost 400 foreign nationals every week, highest record for over ten years!

As e be, Canada don remove 18,048 people for 2024-2025 financial year only, and dem don spend about $78 million for all this operation. Under their Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, dem dey fit remove anybody wey dey cause wahala for their rules, whether na security issues, human rights violations or even small-small crimes.

Majority of all these deported people na failed refugee claimants, wey no fit get their asylum grant. About 83% of dem dey for that category, and e just be like say wahala dey pursue dem follow them everywhere.

Wey dey see as Canadian law dey carry sharp knife reduce population of foreigners wey no fit fit their criteria. Dem get three types of orders wey go fit make person leave: departure orders wey dey allow you just 30 days, exclusion orders wey fit make person no come back for one to five years, and deportation orders wey mean say you no go fit show face there again without special permission!

The Canadian government dey reason am say all this serious deportation matter dey help them manage immigration issues, housing wahala, and labor market challenges. Dem also don budget extra $30.5 million just to make sure dem fit dey remove more people wey no suppose dey dey their land.

As per 2021 census, over 40,000 Nigerians don land Canada between 2016 and 2021, making us number five for recent immigrants. And for early 2024, 6,600 Nigerians don enter as new permanent residents.
