My people, guess wetin? Naira don show fine finesse as e end 2025 well well! E don get better gain of over N100 for foreign exchange market, because external reserves don improve, policies don change for better, and liquidity no dey like before. Lawd have mercy!
As per Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data, naira don appreciate by 6.96 percent throughout the year. E end for N1,435.75 to one dollar on December 31, 2025, from N1,535.82 wey e dey before. Na small miracle be this o, considering how naira been dey struggle before!
Not just that, even for the black market, naira don shine like diamond! E close 2025 at N1,485 per dollar, which na 11.1 percent gain from N1,650 wey we see December 2024. E be like say naira dey try hard to gain respect again.
External reserves don gather plenty muscle, as dem reach $45.48 billion by December 30, up from $40.88 billion wey dem get last year. This one dey help the CBN to hold naira tight and protect am from wahala wey dey foreign exchange market.
Muda Yusuf, wey dey run Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise, talk say 2025 na year of stability for naira. Him talk say e no dey move up and down too much, and this one bring better confidence for business owners, e clear pass water!
Analysts for FSDH Merchant Bank also gree say foreign exchange market don see better improvement for 2025. Dem talk say naira dey trade at an average of N1,518.9 per dollar, sharp from N1,535.8 wey e close for 2024.
All these gains fit no be by fluke o, as structural problems dey still dey around. But with Dangote Refinery dey work better and producing more, import dey reduce, which dey help naira to chill better.
CBN dey forecast say external reserves fit rise to $51.04 billion for 2026. This one dey excite plenty people! As dem plan to make necessary reforms, market go dey stable, and naira fit shine pass this year.
So, my people, as we enter 2026, make we keep our fingers crossed for naira oh. E seem say something good dey happen; we just hope say dem go fit maintain the vibe and improve even more. Naija no dey ever tire!
