Omo Naija dey run! Christmas Marathon dey ginger unity!

My people, una don hear wetin happen for Ondo City this past Sunday? Na wah! Over 5,000 runners and fitness lovers from all over Naija and even abroad gather for the second edition of the Christmas Marathon, and trust Naija to bring plenty gist!

This koko event na brain child of Prince Adewole Adebayo and him wifey, Queen Lillian Adebayo. Dem carry all of us waka for 15-kilometre route wey dey show all the fine places for Ondo City – markets, historical sites, and residential areas be like movie set! This marathon no be just for running; e dey promote healthy living, unity, and endurance like na some serious matter.

Prince Adebayo, wey don run for presidential seat under SDP, talk say dis marathon dey do plenty more than just make people dey fit. “E go give participants purpose, build stamina wey fit help dem for life,” he yan. As e dey run, he also dey push sports development like football, basketball, boxing, and even swimming! For am, na discipline and endurance dey makco for both life and country.

He add say, “A marathon na project! E no be small thing. E go need you to prepare, compete, and endure. Just like person wey dey run, na so our country dey run too. Development na marathon wey we all need to participate in.” E too hail Ondo City for how dey fit for this long-distance wahala, say we fit turn am to internationally known event. Na surely ambitious, but Naija we dey talk about!

Adebayo dey plan to make this marathon part of our yearly calendar. “We wan make am a big deal like other marathon for overseas. Consistency na di koko,” him talk. The route and organization don improve since last year, so you know say dis time na proper matter.

Meanwhile, my guy, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, wey head di Planning Committee, come yan say this marathon na correct fitness and community-building event. Him give kudos to Prince and Queen for bringing this initiative to life. Na so e be, youths dey need support for this running matter, as dem dey need more encouragement to take part. “Dis marathon no be for beginner, e require experience and determination! But Na where discipline, focus, and endurance dey pay off!” Adebayo conclude.

As the race dey go on, we see winners emerge like stars! 17-year-old Gang James Boyi come first for men, while Blessing Solomon Shambor, wey dey 23, carry di trophy for women. Dem win cash prizes wey dey up to N2 million for first place, while second and third hail with N1 million and N500,000. Each participant also collect N100,000! Na so we dey celebrate fitness this festive season!
