My people, elections don land for Central African Republic, and na President Faustin-Archange Touadera dey face the heat. This guy don dey eye third term, and critics don dey shout say him wan chop presidency for life. E be like movie wey no get end!
For this election wey span different levels, over 2.3 million people dey ready to vote, but some opposition people don dey call am sham. Dem no gree say people fit vote freely, claiming say di whole arrangement no get proper talk-talk and na dem go suffer am if dem no yan.
Na for dis Sunday wahala, Faustin don already rock the election by waving he success story about steadying a nation wey don dey vex since forever. Since 2016 wey he take di office during di civil war, some level of peace don showface, but oo, trouble no go completely waka. Still be like say armed groups dey vie for di best part of di nation.
Reports from polling points dey show say voting no get wahala. Nazaire Patchbale wey supervise one polling station for Bangui, talk say people fit vote calm, and na wetin everybody dey hope for. But for another area, one guy wey call himself Beranger lament say e no fit vote cos some pipo wey no dey electoral roll don collect dem ballot. E no sweet at all!
As Touadera dey show face for di election, he dey roll with im presidential guard and also some Russian contractors from Wagner. Na dem dey help as security muscle. Bangui dey quiet no be small, with UN peacekeepers on ground to setup dem own roadblocks and ensure everybody dey behave.
Touadera’s main challenger, Anicet-Georges Dologuele, also don join di voting groove like twice before, but he come out say: ‘I go respect di choice of di ballot box, as I believe say I go win.’ Confidence no be di word here o!
Dey don gather over 1,700 observers from all over di world to watch wetin go happen for dis election. E go touch life for Africa as Guinea dey also hold him own election same day. Oh, na intense time for those guys!
As Touadera dey thump his chest about improvements like paved roads and public lighting, we still dey ask, wetin be di state of life for we people? Because 71% of di population dey below di poverty line. Invisible hunger dey una midst, wahala dey full ground, and unfulfilled promises dey scattered like football for street.
Na wetin go happen go define di next chapter for Central African Republic, and Nigerians dey follow button for all di gist as dem dey try to see whether Touadera go carry di crown win or e go get am from Dologuele or anybody wan step up. E remain to dey see wetin go happen as everybody dey wait for provisional results by next month. Na im be di latest for our corner!
