According to reports, since mid-2023, the governors and Wike don dey chop trillions from Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) money. But wetin we dey see? No better healthcare, no education improvement for vulnerable people wey dey suffer for Naija. Na so SERAP carry dem go court wey dem go explain wetin dem don do with the money.

The suit wey dem file go request dem to show details of how dem spend the money, as sern as di location of any project wey dem don execute with di funds. SERAP talk say Nigerians get the right to know as public funds dey spent, especially when dem dey talk about democracy.

Dem mention say many Nigerians dey suffer as dis opacity no go help any body. Na people wey dey poor and vulnerable na dem dey carry di brunt of fuel subsidy removal. SERAP dey reason say better transparency go help prevent unnecessary wahala and double jeopardy for dem wey don already dey suffer!

Lawyers wey represent SERAP, Oluwakemi Agunbiade and Valentina Adegoke, don highlight say di funds fit still suffer mismanagement or diversion if no body dey watch am well. Wetin we go do with money wey suppose help the people? E go dey shrouded in secrecy, abi?

Plus, dem don talk say plenty states dey chop public funds for entitlement wey no get head or tail! Na just vex people dey use these funds to enjoy lavish lifestyle, while di common man dey struggle to make ends meet. Dem also mention sey states dey owe civil servants wages and pensions. Omo, tell me wetin happen? Where di money dey? As long as people no fit access public services, our leaders go dey face severe wahala as dis corruption wahala dey grow like weed!

Dem don talk say for 2024 alone, FAAC distribute over ₦28.78 trillion from di removal of petrol subsidy. Even allocations for states don increase, but millions of people still dey suffer. We go ask again, wetin happen to all dis money?
