Omo, Lagos don prepare well well for dis Boxing Day! E go be gbas gbos for Teslim Balogun Stadium on December 26, as naija boxers wey sabi dey gather to showcase their skills. Na di yearly Governor’s Belt we dey talk about, and dis one no go be small matter!

According to di Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame (LBHF) wey dey run di show, dem don arrange intensive training camps for all di boxers, including people wey dey waka come from Ogun, Osun, Kwara, Oyo, Borno, and even Abuja. Dis one go make di tournament hot like fire as dem dey bring talent from different parts to show wetin dem fit do inside di ring!

David Mohamed, di Director of LBHF, talk say na dis year, dem go make di event bigger than ever before. “For di first time, we don camp di boxers together! We dey ensure say dem dey in peak condition to give us di best show ever,” e yarn.

Di tournament go get five main bouts and seven exhibition matches. We go see Faruk Abijuwon from Lagos dey face Malik Onifade from Osun for di 50kg category. For di 55kg, Qudus Lateef go take on Tijani Azeez – na Lagos battle, you sabi! Opeyemi Odebode from Oyo go face Rasak Tairu from Ogun for di 65kg, while Abdullahi Robiu and Femi Adeniji go dey enter ring for di 67kg category. Olamilekan Alabi from Lagos go catch Mustapha Salam from Kwara for di 70kg. Na show of strength be dis o!

For di only female bout, Khadijat Balogun of Jagun Girls go face Yakubu Alia from Goal Sellers Foundation for di 40kg. Dis one no be regular fight, na exhibition match, but we dey expect plenty energy!

LBHF na organization wey don dey help grow amateur boxing in Nigeria since day one, founded by our own Wale Edun, wey dey represent us well for finance. Di organization dey work hard to ensure say young boxers dey get opportunity to shine and show wetin dem fit do on big platforms.
