My people, make una hear wetin don happen for Abuja wey dey burst brain! Federal High Court don mistakenly jumble land wey dem approved for Goodluck Jonathan Legacy Model Housing Estate, and now, na federal government go take control the land wey matter dey ground.
Judge Mohammed Umar na im carry gavel come down for this wahala wey involve billions of naira. The ICPC, wey be Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, don raise eye, say this estate dey grounded for almost forever without any house don show face.
Na wetin dem talk be say, two big lands for Kaba District, Abuja, wey value plenty money, nearly 5.28 billion naira, go enter the pocket of federal government clean! E get one plot wey measure 122,015.80 square metres and another one wey dey 157,198.30 square metres, all suspected to be from some kind of shady deals.
Judge Umar no just stop there, e still direct ICPC to use their hand oversee the completion of the 962 housing units wey suppose dey there, and make sure the people wey actually need the houses go get them. Wahala no dey finish for this matter.
ICPC lawyer, Osuobeni Akponimisingha, come talk say the land wey dem collect na for big people, wetin dem promise say go help low-income earners, but since 2012, no one house don land. Dem claim say dem don release $65 million to one developer wey call Good Earth Power Nigeria Limited, and dem still never build anything!
As if that one no bad enough, dem don hear say those guys dey plan to sell the land to some people wey no sabi the whole story. Wetin happen to 65 million dollars wey dem release sharp sharp? Na wah! All dis things dey make sense like fish wey dey fly.
Na so judge Umar dey ask say why dem go fit release everything at once without any house to show. ICPC don raise sabi question, say dem no fit allow this things to happen again. This matter don dey grow since July, when dem first take interim order to secure the land after ICPC don see plenty red flags around this case.
Nigerians dey look this matter like hawk, dem no wan make dis land go away again. Abeg, make we see as e go end. But we sey, if dem fit catch the people wey dey do anyhow, na everybody go smile.
