For December 16, 2025, dem gather for Banquet Hall inside Government House for Asaba, where Senior citizens wey dey aged 65 and above gather to receive better support from the ‘Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme’ (RHIESS). This scheme don scatter ground with plenty goodies as each beneficiary carry dem home ₦200,000 each, plus 50kg sack of rice and free medical care.

Na Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, the wife of Delta Governor, carry the whole gist come as she represent the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. She talk say the scheme na big waka to make sure say our elderly jolly well for this life. After all, dem don suffer for this country, wetin no fit we carry last last no be better thing?

Senator Oluremi Tinubu no dull, she gush about how this positive initiative go help dem old folks. She talk say make we de honour dem because dem don take time build our nation. Wetin! No be small matter o! Na which better country go dey forget the people wey don pave way for us?

Dem mention say from this scheme, a total of 9,500 elderly folks go dey enjoy this support across Nigeria, including veterans from DEPOWA – wetin be short form for Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association. Each of the states and FCT dey enjoy ₦50 million allocation for this support. E be like say delta dey find joy inside all these, abi no be so?

Na so we see say Delta State Government don seriously dey push for old people welfare as dem don approve ₦50 billion to clear all pension wahala wey dey for state and local government.

Also, people wey join the celebration no just collect money and all, them also de bask in the sound of free medical checkups and other supports wey dey come from the office of the first lady alongside You Matter Charity Foundation. Na real family of love be this! Dem collect rice, money and health check, wetin we fit ask for again?

Plenty beneficiaries don reason am well well, dey thank the Governor and the first lady for waving the magic wand of support. Even the ones wey talk to journalists no hold back as dem dey pray for continued peace and better government for Delta and Nigeria at large. E be like say this scheme dey move like wildfire!
