My people, better gather here make we gist! E be like say Federal Government don drop fresh bombshell! Na wah o! Dem don talk say all dem wey wan join public service for Naija go need to pass drug test before dem fit even enter office. Na wetin dem call mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
This gist come from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), and e land for December 22, 2025, as dem drop am for everybody mind. Dem talk say this policy na to protect our workforce from the ‘rising menace’ of drug wahala wey dey affect our people, especially our youths. No be small matter o!
According to Segun Imohiosen, wey be Director of Information and Public Relations, dem go require all Permanent Secretaries and heads of extra-ministerial departments to add drug screening to their recruitment process. E mean say, if you wan enter public service, you better clear for drug test, abeg! No room for error o, my people!
Dem chop up this idea because dem dey notice the ‘alarming rate’ of drug use among our naija youths. Dis thing fit cause serious gbege for public health, socio-economic stability, and even workplace productivity. Imagine person wey dey on drugs try to make law, that one no go fit happen!
Segun also yan say, to make this whole thing work well, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) go need to join hand with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Na so dem go fit carry out the drug tests according to wetin dem set down as standard procedure. Abeg, no be say dem go just dey do am anyhow!
This new policy no be kuku the first; just weeks ago, Adewale Adeniyi, wey dey run the Nigeria Customs Service, don talk say all dem wey wan join him agency go also do drug test. E mean say, Naija never ready to take nonsense again! Na only if you clear, you fit join!
Na serious matter o! Dis drug testing go help make sure say new people wey enter civil service no go get any drug wahala wey fit affect their judgment or affect national security. E good make we carry our head for this matter, because na our future e dey affect.
As dem dey talk am, substance abuse fit bring gbege wey no go end, so the FG don prepare to face am head-on. Make we dey shine our eyes and support dis move, because a sober public service na better Nigeria!
