Ngige Dey Enjoy Bail, But E Get New Conditions O!

Na wah! The former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, don find himself for serious gbege as Federal Capital Territory High Court for Gwarinpa, Abuja, don order am to continue di bail wey EFCC don give am, but this time e get new terms wey go make am waka small.

Justice Maryam Hassan na di judge wey gree dis kain matter. She talk say Ngige must bring correct surety wey go show say dem get property for Abuja, dey work as Federal Government director. Plus, dem need to drop di title documents of di property and his travel papers for court. E no go fit trek outside di country for now, as he dey claim say dem don steal him international passport for United Kingdom. Na wah!

Before dis wahala, EFCC don give Ngige bail on top im own self recognition. But now, di court don hold am say make e dey for Kuje Correctional Centre till he meet all dis new conditions wey dem put make sure say him no waka anywhere.

Dis man dey face serious yarns, as EFCC don arrange eight counts of contract fraud wey carry N2.2 billion on top im head. Di charge wey dem mark as FCT/HC/CR/726/2025, na dem file am on December 9. Dem say Ngige sabi collect kickbacks from contractors dem wey dey work for Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund when im dey serve as minister from September 2015 to May 2023 under late President Muhammadu Buhari. Di man no accept all di charges as he don plead not guilty.

For di court hearing way happen on December 15, di EFCC don dey churn matter, say make dem no give Ngige bail again because he no return im travel documents and he no report to dia office until dem go carry am back. But Ngige lawyer no gree, e talk say make dem allow am go on health grounds and emphasize say di offences no be capital, dem dey bailable. Na wetin Justice Hassan talk sha be say di offences dey bailable, and she no wan make di conditions too tight, as e fit deny person di chance to get bail.

So, dem don adjourn di case make trial go happen on January 28 and 29. Make we see how dis matter go take unfold. But no be small drama dis one o!
