Omo, Naija financial system don gather again, as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) don drop big gbege for money matter. Dem don tell all banks and payment service providers say, ‘Abeg, make una connect dual, so no be one side’. This one go help us stop all those wahala wey dey make transaction dey fail anyhow.
As e be, CBN don drop circular wey Rakiya O. Yusuf, the big oga for payments system supervision department sign, say all Point-of-Sale (PoS) machines and their service providers gatz join both Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) and Unified Payment Services Limited (UPSL). Dem no wan hear say connection dey break down again, this na serious business o!
Honestly, we sabi say e get plenty wahala when na only one channel dey service them PoS transactions. People dey miss buy, merchants dey vex, money dey waka away like breeze; even banks dey feel am for pocket. CBN no carry last as dem don set one month deadline give all the acquirers, processors, and service providers to make sure say dem connect well and understand wetin dem dey do.
The plan be say, if one side dey catch fire, the other side go pick up the slack without anybody even know wetin dey happen. Na so dem fit run their business without wahala. E mean say all those ‘sorry, network don spoil’ story go fit end for Naija.
For the circular wey CBN drop, dem still add say NIBSS and UPSL gatz dey work hand in hand with all the regulated banks. Dem need to carry out test every now and then, so we no go get any shock when transaction wan happen. Everybody gatz know their role, and dem need to give CBN report on wetin happen within 24 hours if anything break down. Na serious level we dey talk so, no room for anybody to slack.
Like wetin we dey hear from CBN, dis dual connectivity na the way forward. E go make the entire PoS naija network strong, we dey talk am early, so make everybody get their own plan. Naija folks wey dey use PoS go dey thank CBN as dem set dis plan wey go turbo-charge di financial system. No be small!
