Osogbo, Osun State – Big news don land for Osun State! Seven big shots wey dey run for governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC) don drop their ambition after one important meeting wey dem get with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
These aspirants no wan scatter ground again as dem don agree to support Bola Oyebamiji as dem consensus candidate go the forthcoming primary. E be like say dem don kuku decide say make everybody align for one person wey fit make sense for the party.
But, no be all of dem dey onboard oh! Iyiola Omisore, one of the aspirants wey be former senator, don show say he no gree. Him talk say the whole disqualification matter wey dem yan concerning him na joke (as if we no sabi wetin dey happen for Naija politics). He no come the meeting at all, but the others wey step down include former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Akin Ogunbiyi, Dotun Babayemi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Kunle Adegoke, Babatunde Haketer Oralusi, and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh. Dem all don pack their loads for Oyebamiji side.
Na wetin happen for the meeting inside Presidential Villa be this. According to our sources, this meeting na strategy to put the APC for better position as dem dey prepare for the primaries. The meeting get plenty fire as dem dey try to resolve the fight wey don dey happen within the Osun APC since when the 2026 elections dey come closer.
You fit remember say just recently, the party don disqualify Omisore and six others, wey no meet the requirements wey dey for party constitution. Dem talk say dem need proof say at least five party members from each of Osun’s 30 Local Government Areas don endorse dem. E be like say these aspirants no fit meet up, and dem no take this matter lightly at all.
As expected, the disqualified aspirants don dey flare up. Omisore wey always dey fight for his ground don talk say this whole thing na plan to silence anybody wey no be loyal to the godfathers. Na wah! People dey feel say this na im set-up to favor loyalists before the elections, and this one go fit cause wahala for the party.
Benedict Alabi, one of dos wey step down, no too happy with how everything be. Him dey talk say dem don meet all wetin APC need by law, but wetin dem dey see na sabotage. Dem don call for emergency meeting wey go happen for Osogbo to address this wahala. Dem dey plan to pen appeals to the National Working Committee (NWC) within 48 hours. Toh, e no easy!
