Kano, Nigeria – Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the big man for New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), don finally talk say e dey consider joining All Progressives Congress (APC) – but wait oh, no be just like that! Na strong promises wey go fit benefit his party dem wan hear before dem go fit call am. E speak this one as he collect Buhari Bakwana and some APC members wey come from all 44 local government areas of Kano State, for im house wey dey Miller Road.

Kwankwaso begin remind dem say, na hin and some other top guys start APC back in 2013. He talk say na dem bore the wahala wey come from dem make the party stand. “Make nobody lie, nobody fit tell us wetin we go through just to form this party. Na we be the original seven governors wey carry this thing for head,” he talk. (As e dey talk, you fit see say the pain still dey show for im face.)

As e dey yarn, e no shy to remind dem the political persecution wey e and im guys face. “EFCC, ICPC, police, na dem all use their powers against me just to stop our plans,” he add. E make am clear say before NNPP go even consider any merger, dem go need clear and big benefits. “If you dey ask us to join APC, you go tell us wetin we go gain. We carry gubernatorial candidates for all states and strong presence across the country. Wetin you go offer us?”

Kwankwaso, wey no hide im mind and dey quick to drop some history, talk say APC and PDP na two places wey dem don chop dem safe, yet still abandon im and im group after dem do all the heavy lifting. “For the past eight years wey APC dey run things under Bukka (Buhari), wetin we gain? Nothing, not even ‘thank you’. For PDP, we just ask for small zonal chairman position, but dem no gree. We just pack our load and waka, now we don dey stand strong.”

But no be say Kwankwaso dey close im door completely o. E stress say dem dey open for negotiations as long as no be say dem go take dem play like before. “We dey ready to join APC but under tight conditions and promises. We no wan make dem use us and dump us like before,” he conclude.

So, wetin go happen next? E go depend on how well APC fit reason this matter before dem go fit talk any serious business with Kwankwaso and the NNPP. No be small matter, but one sure thing be say, dem no go hear am if dem no fit deliver wetin dem promise – Kwankwaso don talk am clear!
