Saint Lucia and Martinique Join Forces for Better Social Protection

Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia – E be like say collaboration dey come full ground as officials from the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment just finish high-level visit to Martinique. Na from July 2 to 4, 2025, Permanent Secretary Dr. Charmaine Hippolyte Emmanuel and her crew gather for serious discussions with humanitarian partners and donor organizations.

The meeting no be just talk; na real action dey happen! Dem even visit the new ICIN department for CHUM Hospital wey just open, plus EPHAD wey dey take care of older persons. Na the Rotary and Lions Clubs na dem dey provide plenty support to Saint Lucia’s social protection outreach for years now (talk about good neighbors!).

According to Saint Lucia’s Consulate General for Martinique, Allison Joseph, “Both places dey share cultural and historical ties, plus plenty more partnership wey dey evolve.” If dem fit waka together, dem fit achieve bigger things, especially when e come to social justice, equity, and sustainable development. And you know say na im go better tin for both side.

Dr. Hippolyte Emmanuel no carry matter play as she talk say dem discuss plenty plans wey go help dem cooperate better. “We wan fit create structure wey go ensure say assistance go dey fast, especially during the national emergencies,” she talk. And with the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season don land, e no fit better time than now to enhance support for the vulnerable communities.

Meanwhile, Saint Lucia dey show appreciation to all the donor organizations and the Martinique Consulate for their constant support. This partnership no be just normal; e dey part of their broader plan to strengthen national preparations and make sure say dem dey fit protect their social systems.
