The 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos, has organised a golf tournament in honour of its immediate past General Officer Commanding (GOC), Maj.-Gen. Nuhu Angbazo.            .

The competition, holding at the Rhino Golf Club of the division, features both professional and amateur golfers.

Speaking at the tea off of the event on Thursday in Jos, Brig.-Gen Musa Danmadami, the Acting GOC and patron of the club, said the former patron did so much in uplifting the club.

“The rationale behind the organisation of this tournament is to honour the outgone GOC and patron of this golf club.

“During his time as patron, he did so much for the club; he brought the club to the level we are seeing it today.

“They say you give honour to whom honour is due. So, we organise this competition to honour him for the good job he had done,” Danmadami said.

Earlier, Captain of the club, retired Maj.-Gen. Olayinka Oshinowo, said golfers were drawn  from different parts of the country to participate in the competition.
