Tennis great Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with stage one breast and throat cancer, her agent told CNN in an email Monday.
"This double whammy is serious but still has a solution," the 66-year-old said in a statement on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) website.
“I expect a favorable result. It's going to suck for a while, but I'll fight with everything I've got."
Navratilova, who won 59 Grand Slam titles in her career, already battled breast cancer in 2010.
The latest prognosis is said to be good, according to the statement, and he will start treatment this month.
Navratilova's agent, Mary Greenham, said the tennis legend discovered an enlarged lymph node in her neck during the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, which took place from October 31 to November 7.
A biopsy was performed and he was later diagnosed with stage one throat cancer, his agent said. When Navratilova underwent throat tests, her agent said a suspicious form was found in her breast, which was later diagnosed as cancer.
Greenham said both cancers were in the early stages with excellent results.
Navratilova enjoyed a long playing career in which she won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 31 Grand Slam doubles titles, and 10 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles. She still holds the all-time WTA Tour record of 167 titles.
After retiring from singles in 1994 at the age of 38, he continued to play doubles and win titles well into his 40s.
She has remained involved in the sport as a coach, broadcaster and ambassador for the WTA Tour, highlighting the importance of preventive checkups to combat specific diseases such as breast cancer.
Navratilova was due to cover the upcoming Australian Open from the Tennis Channel studio, but instead hopes to join in occasionally via Zoom, Greenham added.

With the AFC's top spot on the line, the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals meet to close out Week 17 on Monday Night Football between two of the best young quarterbacks in the game.
The Bills currently hold the highest record in the AFC at 12-3, tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for No. 1, but hold the tiebreaker with their regular-season win against the Chiefs on Oct. 16.
The Bengals may not have the best record, but they are 11-4 and have been the best coverage team in the NFL not just this season, but since the 2000 season.

Tyler Boyd (+350)I wrote Boyd down as one of my top three favorite Bills vs. Bengals this morning here on Stripe Hype.
The veteran slot receiver has nearly as many red zone targets as Tee Higgins in recent games, but significantly higher odds of finding the end zone. Could it be the result of Higgins scoring in four straight games? Certainly, but there's also variance to consider when it comes to touchdowns, and Boyd has been on the wrong side in recent weeks.
With his injured finger looking much better this week, of all the Bengals wide receiver odds, Boyd offers by far the best value for money.
Joe Burrow (+490)I love to bet quarterbacks will find their way for sixes, especially in high-stakes games like tonight.
Burrow isn't afraid to sacrifice his body to stretch for the end zone, and Burrow has already rushed for five touchdowns this season, taking off from the pocket no less than three times since Halloween.
With offensive line improvements in the second half of the season, Burrow hasn't needed to get out and run as often, but with Buffalo's strength in blocking opposing receivers, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the former No. 1 pick. a look to do the dirty work himself.

What is at stake?The 1 seed in the AFC.
You can't win it on Monday night, but the Bills can eliminate the Bengals' chances with a win.
Last year, when the NFL added a seventh playoff team in each conference, it made the top seed that much more important. Previously, the 1st and 2nd seeds in each conference earned byes in the wild card round. Now, only the 1 seed leaves for that first week of the playoffs.
Of course, the 1 seed also gets home field advantage in the Divisional Round and Conference Championship, if it wants to go that far.
Needless to say, for two teams with legitimate chances to win the Super Bowl, getting the top seed makes the road to Arizona a little easier.
If Buffalo loses to Cincinnati, they can still mathematically get the No. 1 seed, but they'd have to rely on a few other things to make it happen:
Bills players OUT: Bengals players OUT: Last out: Bills – 35, Bears – 13The Bills' running games took over in a game where Josh Allen didn't look like his usual self. Allen threw two interceptions and fell short of 200 passing yards. But the Bills gained 254 rushing yards, with Devin Singletary and James Cook leading the charge.
Buffalo's defense kept Justin Fields in check. The top statistical QB rusher only picked up 11 yards on 7 carries. Through the air, Fields was less impressive, passing for just over 100 yards.
Despite Allen's cool day, he warmed up late in sub-zero temperatures in Chicago. Allen ran for a TD and found Dawson Knox for another, as the Bills defeated the Bears late in the fourth quarter.
Bills player to watch Stefon DiggsIt's always fun to watch Stefon Diggs work on the grid, but this week is going to be a show given what's been going on lately.
In Week 15 against the Dolphins, Diggs appeared frustrated on a play after Allen missed targeting him. Since then, he has shut down any rumors that he and Allen aren't on the same page.
But Allen has also offered his opinion.
“If he has an opportunity for the ball, I want to allow him to have that opportunity. So yeah, it's either a slippery slope or a very fine line of trying to give him the ball too much and forcing it," Allen said.
There should be no question that QB 1 and WR 1 are on the same page. And it seems highly likely that the two may hook up more than usual on Monday night.

Still alive in the NFC playoff race, the Seattle Seahawks will be without one of their best defensive players. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, starting linebacker Jordyn Brooks suffered a torn ACL in the second quarter of Sunday's 23-6 win over the New York Jets and is out for the season.

With Brooks' injury late in the season, the 25-year-old faces an uphill climb to get ready for the 2023 campaign. That puts the Seahawks in a potentially difficult position regarding whether or not to pick the season. fifth-year option on Brooks' contract for 2024.

The hip-hop community is mourning the death of pioneering Southern rapper and former Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo, who has passed away at the age of 43.
Drake, Missy Elliott, Ty Dolla $ign and Freddie Gibbs are among the many musicians who remember Boo, who was found dead on Sunday (January 1) in a home in Memphis, Tenn., according to Fox 13 in Memphis, Commercial Appeal. and others. reports. Boo, whose real name was Lola Mitchell, was born in the Whitehaven section of Memphis on August 7, 1979. She joined the local hip-hop collective Three 6 Mafia, founded by DJ Paul, Juicy J and Lord Infamous, at age aged 15 in 1994. That same year, he recorded his first solo song with the group, "Cheefa Da Reefa". The song would set the tone for the Memphis femmee, who later released her biggest hit, "Where Dem Dollas At?" from their 1998 debut album, Inquiring Minds.
She went through a series of transformations during her career, renaming herself Lady Boo in 2001 and releasing numerous solo albums. In 2013, she joined Da Mafia 6ix before band member Lord Infamous's passing in December of that year. In 2014, she and the other woman from Da Mafia 6ix, La Chat, also recorded Witch together.
In recent months, Boo has appeared in the GloRilla and Latto collaboration "F— The Club Up," a play on Three 6 Mafia's "Tear Da Club Up."

According to the magazine, Celine Dion missed the cut. Dion is one of the most successful singers with five Grammy Awards and seven of her albums selling at least 10 million copies worldwide.
Rolling Stone said its parameters were "originality, influence, the depth of an artist's catalog and the breadth of their musical legacy."
Some other notable snubs include Cher, Janet Jackson, and Nat King Cole.

The publication kicked off the New Year with an update to its ranking, which began in 2008, honoring the best vocalists in pop music.
This time, the list excludes powerhouses like Celine Dion, Pink, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson, Janet Jackson, Tony Bennett, Madonna, Nat King Cole, Dionne Warwick, and more.
"This new list was compiled by our key staff and collaborators, and spans 100 years of pop music as an ongoing global conversation," Rolling Stone writes, adding that the criteria were based on "originality, influence, catalog depth of an artist and the breadth of his musical legacy.
Many music fans argued on Twitter about the snubbed artists and the ranking order.

"Did they get THE @MichaelJackson in EIGHTY-SIX?! And not @CelineDion at all?!" tweeted actress Yvette Nicole Brown. "Shoot the way MJ sang #WithAChildsHeart when he was a KID gets him in the top three at least and if Celine Dion isn't in the Top Ten at LEAST what are we really doing? Damn @RollingStone."
One Twitter user wrote: "What do you mean Celine Dion isn't on Rolling Stone's list?"
"Sorry but Jennifer Hudson is a better singer than 95% of the people on that #RollingStone list," another person said. "Her impact of hers is immense. The EGOT winner's contributions to film, theater, music and television are undeniable."
In addition to Hudson, fellow EGOT winners John Legend and Rita Moreno missed the cut.

Jazmine Sullivan, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Michael Jackson made the list, but did not break the Top 100.
"Rolling Stone magazine proved incredible. 1. Placing Christina Aguilera so low. 2. Placing Taylor Swift higher than Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jazmine Sullivan and Alicia Keys. 3. Not having Celine Dion in the last place that is part of the vocal trinity", criticized a Twitter user.
Another similarly tweeted: "Rolling Stone but Taylor Swift in top 200 vocalists but they didn't even mention Celine Dion or Janet Jackson. And they put Rihanna ABOVE Kelly Clarkson?????"

Among other slights were lead vocalists whose singing bandmates were excluded. Stevie Nicks made it without Fleetwood Mac, Jungkook was dropped from BTS, Beyoncé without other Destiny's Child members, Diana Ross without the Supremes, Ozzy Osbourne ranked without Black Sabbath, and Mick Jagger was listed without the Rolling Stones.
Soul and R&B dominated the Top 10 on Rolling Stone's list, with Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Sam Cooke taking the top spots.
