2023: Bello hasn’t dropped presidential ambition –Group

By Stephen Adeleye

To suggest that Kogi’s Governor Yahaya Bello has abandoned his presidential ambition for the post of vice president is a lie from the abyss, a group, the Global Alliance of Progressive Professionals (GAP3) said.

The group made the announcement in a statement Tuesday in Lokoja.

The statement, signed by the group’s national coordinator and national publicity secretary, the Hon. Ahmed Chikaji and the Hon. Suleiman Siraj respectively, said the publication by a national daily was not true.

The group described the post as unwarranted, malicious and capable of undermining the personality and integrity of Bello, who had strategized to run for president in 2023.

According to the statement, the group is not ignoring the activities of certain political critics with the aim of derailing the political movements of Bello, using all possible means, including the media.

“We are aware of the various maneuvers of some political critics using fake news and other means to roll back our collective agitation in favor of the north-central geopolitical zone to choose the presidential niche of the APC and the personality of the governor. Yahaya Bello for the post.

“Agitation and ambition are indeed on the fast track and it will be mission accomplished for sure. Certainly, we expect people to complain.

The group reiterated its previous position on membership in the rotating presidency, urging the APC nationwide to support groups, youth and women at the forefront for the presidency of North Central and Bello .
