Di report recall say Rohana, wey her Chinese ex-teacher Chee Hoi Lan dey care for, get her citizenship status and identity card for April 2022, after her life story spread well well online and catch di attention of di then Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Before then, she no get citizenship paper at all.
Rohana tok say di offer mean plenty to her. “I don’t know how to say ‘thank you’… I am very grateful for the gift God has given me because this is something I have been dreaming about for a long time,” na wetin she tok. She still thank UTeM, and explain say although medicine na di field wey interest her pass, computer science na her second choice, and her “laoshi”, Chee, dey support am.
She promise say she go work hard finish her studies and give back to her community: “So I will do my best to repay her.”
Rohana na former student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Ibrahim Yaakob, Kampung Batu. Di report tok say she go leave with Chee go Melaka, because registration for di admission na on Monday, and she only hear about di offer on Saturday before di confirmation. She add say she still get plenty preparation to do.
