Manchester United dey find trouble as dem don play six matches without victory for all competitions. This Wednesday, dem go face Como for Champions League, and na chance for dem to change the story of their season wey no start well.
For the European tournament, United get three points after dem beat Sabah 4-0 for their debut, but dem later lose to Atlético de Madrid, and that one push dem down to 13th position for the table. The team wey Michael Carrick dey coach no suppose relax if dem want aspire to win a trophy.
For the probable lineup, Carrick go likely use Senne Lammens for goal. The goalkeeper get im only clean sheet of the campaign for the 4-0 win over Sabah almost six weeks ago. But im problem na when e dey come out, especially when opponents pressure am. For defense, Noussair Mazraoui go play right back because Leny Yoro dey suspended, and Mazraoui don return. Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt go be the center backs. Maguire dey indispensable, especially with many absences for defense, and e give experience. De Ligt bin dey almost 11 months without play match after back surgery, and e never play since e recover, but because of absences, Carrick fit gamble on am. Diogo Dalot go play left back; e bin be one of the best on Sunday, especially as e take advantage of spaces to advance from the left. For midfield, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba go start. Santos don start three consecutive games and e dey pragmatic with decisions, while Baleba partnership with Santos dey work for passes and distribution, but e still need work on defensive distractions. Amad Diallo go play right wing, where im natural position allow am to get closer to area and use im skill to beat opponents, but e need improve im decision-making.
Como coach Cesc Fabregas say hosting Manchester United na historic milestone for the whole city of Como. E urge im squad to keep calm and enjoy competing at the highest level. Fabregas highlight say na great match against one of the best and greatest teams in history. “It’s a match to dream about, but we must try to give our best to win and add the three points,” e talk. Como bin gain promotion to Serie A in 2024 and last season dem finish fourth to qualify for European competition.
Fabregas also dismiss talk of crisis for Manchester United. “Crises no dey exist for football: there is a match every three days and no time to think if crisis dey or not. Eleven against eleven, we try to win. You dey invent the crisis, we no dey feel am because we be professionals wey want compete. I no believe in these things: na Manchester United and dem get great players,” e talk.
Nico Paz, Como top player, also speak to media. “A night like tomorrow’s na reward for what we achieve in recent years. We deserve to play games like this. We dey very excited and proud to play,” e confess.
