Blue Origin founder and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos explain for interview on Wednesday why e think socialism dey gain traction among some politicians and voters, and wetin e think dem dey get wrong.

Bezos speak on factory floor of Blue Origin Space Coast facility with Fox News Bret Baier for interview wey air on ‘Special Report’ and dem ask am about factors wey dey drive some people to embrace socialism.

‘One, we do get real affordability problems. So people look at cost of housing, for example, and e dey very expensive. And so you no fit pretend say no problems dey,’ Bezos talk. ‘I no think we suppose underestimate the problems, but we suppose also look at wetin the real solutions be.’

Bezos talk say housing na important example because e be ‘place where plenty of the government intervention wey happen don dey counterproductive. Instead of working on the real solution, e common for, in case of housing, certain politicians to point at landlords and say na fault of greedy landlords.’

‘This no be wetin dey happen. Housing na simple supply and demand situation. Na Econ 101,’ e talk, adding say ‘if you put government programs wey subsidize demand and constrain supply, you go get high prices.’

‘If you fit look at counterexample, which na Austin, where over last 10 years dem don implement many policies designed to make am easier to build houses, and dem get housing prices going down in Austin,’ Bezos talk.

He add say when voters dey fill ballot, dem suppose think about whether politician dey more focused on offering solutions to problems or pointing fingers to cast blame on opponents.

‘If there be politician wey dey pick villains and pointing fingers, that probably mean say dem no get solution. Because if that be solution, instead of blaming somebody, dem for dey work on the solution,’ Bezos talk.

Amazon and Blue Origin founder add say if somebody for one of him companies come enter meetings and ‘instead of working on root cause and root fix and real solution to problem, all dem do na point fingers and blame people, we go exit dem very quickly. Those people no go dey our company for long.’

He talk say he think say environment dey where some people don teach ‘this whole kind of oppressor-oppressed framework and that success is villainy. Success no be villainy.’
