Dangote Cut Diesel Price By N70, Lagos Depots Still Sell Higher

Dangote Petroleum Refinery don drop the price of diesel, wey dem also call Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, by N70 per litre. The refinery gantry price na now N1,780, down from N1,850 before. The new rate, wey be 3.8% cut, start to work on Thursday, October 1, 2026, Nigeria Independence Day, when country mark 66th anniversary.

A cluster of depots, including Ascon, Duport, Ibachem, Ibeto, Integrated, Menj, Pivot and TMDK, dey all listed at N1,800 per litre. Variations across locations and available stock continue to influence wholesale prices among different operators.

Beyond the gantry pricing, Dangote also revise im coastal AGO premium downward. E move from ICE plus $90 to ICE plus $70 per metric tonne. This change benefit customers wey dey load AGO directly through the refinery coastal channel, giving dem access to lower pricing basis alongside those wey dey use gantry.

Together, the two adjustments widen the gap between Dangote pricing and that of several competing depots for Lagos market. Earlier, Legit.ng report say National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, reveal say average retail price of Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, commonly known as diesel, increase by 86.40% year-on-year to N3,277.47 per litre. According to latest diesel price watch report wey the statistics agency release, the figure rise from N1,758.26 per litre.
