Joint security forces for Kano State don throw warning say dem fit arrest the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the 15th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, if any of dem do anything wey fit spoil peace for the state.
Di warning come after emergency meeting on security situation. Di joint forces vow say anybody or group wey violate di embargo on horse riding and durbar activities for Kano go face prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, talk to journalists on Friday. E declare say di executive order wey restrict horse riding and any form of durbar still dey in force, and e bind everybody for di state, no matter their status or position.
Bakori say di joint security forces observe recent developments wey fit disrupt law and order. He stress say further violation no go dey tolerated.
Di security warning follow royal procession wey di 15th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, lead through city centre. Report talk say di procession allegedly lead to destruction of public property, including political banners belonging to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Police confirm say public order break down during di procession, and five persons don dey arrested in connection with di incident. Di matter cause tension, and na why di state government issue ban on horse riding and any form of durbar procession for Kano.

He say supporters of Emir Bayero go wait until di monarch, wey currently out of town, return before dem decide next move.
Dan’agundi add say if di government restriction apply to all traditional rulers, Bayero camp go announce arrangements for im own horse-riding procession after consultation with di 15th Emir. Speaking alongside Director of Department of State Services, Abubakar Hussaini, CP Bakori say to strengthen security coordination, di Joint Security Meeting resolve to maintain strict compliance with government ban on horse riding and durbar activities for di state.
According to di CP, any institution or organisation wey consider am necessary to undertake any form of durbar and/or horse or animal-riding activity for public place for di state must give at least 72 hours prior written notice to di Kano State Police Command through office of di Commissioner of Police. He say di notice go enable di command conduct necessary security assessment and make adequate arrangements to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Di emirate dispute between Sanusi and Bayero don persist since Kano State Government reinstate Sanusi as Emir and repeal di law wey create five emirates for di state. Sanusi dey occupy main Gidan Rumfa palace with backing of di state government, while Bayero dey operate from Nasarawa mini-palace.
For BBC Hausa report, di crisis start in 2020 when then Governor Abdullahi Ganduje change di emirate law, split di emirate into five and remove Muhammadu Sanusi II from throne. Later Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf sign new Kano State Emirate law in 2024, dissolve di emirates and return Sanusi II as Emir. Court cases follow, and Supreme Court adjourn hearing of di suit to 19 April 2027.
