Nigeria Police Force don open investigation into how one final-year student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State, allegedly commit suicide. Reports identify the deceased as Oluwole Oluwaseun, a student of Department of Materials Science and Engineering. One other report call am Oluwole Oluwasegun.
OAU say the incident happen for one apartment inside Damico area of Ooni Layout, Ile-Ife, where dem find the student inside emergency situation on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. According to statement wey the university Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, issue on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the institution receive information about the emergency around 1:30 p.m.
The university say its Quick Response and Security Team immediately proceed to the location after dem receive the report. The Nigeria Police was immediately contacted, and officers from the ‘A’ Division, Moore, Ile-Ife, join the university security personnel at the scene, the statement talk.
