‘It is with gratitude to God for a life well lived and fought, that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle. The Lion of Lufodo,’ he write.
He add: ‘We call on all bloggers and social media influencers to respect our family’s privacy at this time.’
Olu Jacobs na one of Nigeria most prominent veteran actors, with career wey span theatre, television and film.
Dem train am for Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, Jacobs start im career for British television and later feature for several international productions before he return to Nigeria, where he become major figure for di country film industry.
He go on to star for numerous Nigerian films and become widely recognised for im commanding performances, earning several industry honours, including di Industry Merit Award at di Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award at di Africa International Film Festival.
Jacobs also be film executive and, alongside im wife, veteran actress Joke Silva, he dey involved for di Lufodo Group and di development of performing arts for Nigeria.
