Arsenal don officially sign Gibraltar international winger James Scanlon from Manchester United, the club confirm.
The 19-year-old, wey born for Leicester, don join Gunners on a two-year deal. Scanlon bin dey Derby County youth setup before he go Man Utd academy.
He be creative player wey like to score and assist. He fit play as left winger, or for right flank, or as number 10.
Despite him age, Scanlon don play 24 times for Gibraltar senior team, score five goals. He don feature for World Cup qualifiers and UEFA Nations League, so he get plenty experience.
Last season, he spend second half on loan for Swindon Town for League Two, where he score im first senior club goal and help the team finish 9th.
Scanlon talk say: “Na pleasure to dey here, I can’t wait to get started. I been dey wait to finish this deal, so I dey buzz to dey here.” He add say im family important to am, and to get dem with am for this special day make am better.
When dem ask why im choose Arsenal, he talk say: “You fit see where the club dey, really positive, and e go only get better. Everybody here dey hungry for more, hungry to improve, and that’s something I believe I fit add to and want to be part of.”
On international experience, he talk say e dey massive: “I dey proud to represent my country, but international football at young age go only improve me as player and as person. To dey play against men every week, and to dey part of dressing room wey represent country, na very valuable experience.”
According to report, Man United don include 50 per cent sell-on clause for the deal. The move also see Arsenal land this young talent after Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven go opposite direction to United.
