Adeleke thank Tinubu for free and fair Osun election, say im na democracy fighter

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, don tok say President Bola Tinubu make sure say di governorship election for Osun State na free and fair election, because Tinubu na person wey fight for democracy. Adeleke make dis statement on Thursday, just few days afta im re-election victory.

Di Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) don already declare Adeleke as winner of di election wey happen on August 15. Di governor bin get 511,067 votes to beat im main rival, Bola Oyebamiji of di All Progressives Congress (APC), wey also get 444,815 votes. Oyebamiji come second for di race, wey be first runner-up.

Di election result show say Adeleke win for 19 out of di 30 local government areas for di state, while di APC candidate, Oyebamiji, win for di remaining 11 councils. Dis one mean say di incumbent governor get strong support across di state, but di opposition still hold some ground.

On Thursday afternoon, Adeleke arrive di State House for Abuja at about 5:20 p.m. Dem drive am through di forecourt directly to di president office, where im go meet wit President Tinubu behind closed doors. Di meeting no open to public, but afta di meeting, Adeleke come out to talk wit State House correspondents wey dey wait for am.

For im briefing, Adeleke say im visit na to thank Tinubu for allowing di electoral process to run im course without any interference. Im further say Tinubu deserve commendation for dis one, because im no try to manipulate di election or impose any candidate.

According to Adeleke, im call Tinubu “di father of di nation” because of di way im respect di democratic process. Im also tok say di election result na di true wish of di people of Osun State, and e show say democracy dey alive for Nigeria.

Adeleke quote am directly: “Yeah, na why I dey here to thank Mr. President, di father of di nation, because im fight for dis democracy. Na why im allow free and fair election, and na dat one be di result. Na why I dey here, to say thank you to make sure democracy live for Nigeria.”
