FC Twente don finally collect their first points for the new VriendenLoterij Eredivisie season. John van den Brom side beat PEC Zwolle 3-1 at home on Sunday, after the visitors don also lose their opening match against Ajax last week by 2-0.
Both sides manage one effort for the opening stages. Elias Sørensen fire over for PEC, while Daouda Weidmann do the same for Twente.
Midway through the first half, PEC take the lead. Sloppy build-up play from Lars Unnerstall and Robin Pröpper be punished ruthlessly by Sørensen, wey make am 0-1. Twente feel say dem commit foul for the build-up, but referee and VAR no agree.

After the break, Twente take control. The unmarked Daan Rots head wide, but Dylan Mbayo own goal still make am 2-1. The forward try to stop Weidmann from scoring, only to hammer the ball into im own top corner.
Twente keep coming. Daan Rots make am 3-1 with a long-range strike and settle the contest. PEC don’t get anything to offer after that.
Late on, Sondre Ørjasæter, Wout Weghorst, Thomas van den Belt and Filip Thorvaldsen, among others, all go search for more goals. A fourth Twente goal no arrive, but that no dampen the mood at De Grolsch Veste.
