Fubara tell new Perm Secs: No dey sleep for work, do right for Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, don swear in 12 new permanent secretaries and he tell dem say dis appointment na call to selfless service. Di ceremony happun for Government House for Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Governor say dem suppose see dia role as chance to serve di state well, not to dey pursue personal interest. He charge dem to provide purposeful leadership and help reposition di civil service so e fit deliver better service to people.

Fubara remind dem say as permanent secretaries, dem don reach di highest career position for civil service. So dem must justify di confidence wey dem give dem through professionalism, integrity, and commitment.

He talk say, “Do right to every man and woman, do right to Rivers State, and do right to Federal Republic of Nigeria.” He add say dia coming on board go help dis administration achieve di goal of moving Rivers State forward.

Di governor warn dem against complacency, poor supervision, and bureaucratic inefficiency. He say if dem no lead well, e fit undermine government programmes and deny citizens di dividends of good governance.

Fubara stress say dem be accounting and administrative heads of dia ministries, so dem must provide exemplary leadership and maintain high standards. He say, “Don’t be at di head and make dis administration suffer just like some of di ministries.”

Di new permanent secretaries na Mr Freddy Ndigbara, Dr Fortune Akpila, Dr Promise Oguzie, Mrs Ibisoye Lolomari Nwankwo, Mrs Ibiyemiebara Joseph Uzoma, Mrs Mercy Dagogo Iboroma, Dr Wachukwu Vincent Worgu, Mr Ifeanyi Anthony Ogboma, Dr Mina Gogo Jim-Jaja, Mr Henry Uzor, Mr Chimemum Mpi, and Dr Mina Ikuru.

Governor congrats dem and wish dem success for dia work. He urge dem to uphold transparency, accountability, and discipline, and to foster teamwork with political office holders and staff.
