FCT Minister Nyesom Wike don declare say Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara no commit any sin by reconciling with im political camp. Wike yarn di matter on Tuesday after he inspect road projects for Abuja.
Wike say, ‘For politics, dere is no sin. If somebody realise say e make mistake and decide to correct am, notin dey wrong with dat. Politics no be sin. Wetin matter na to recognise say you dey wrong path and make di right decision.’
Di minister recall say e don predict di reconciliation before Fubara make am public. ‘I tok for my last media chat say e get no choice but to return to di same political family wey produce am. I don hear say e make dat declaration publicly, and we welcome am. Our doors dey open. Everybody dey welcome to work with us. No better alternative. We go work together to move di state forward,’ Wike add.
Also, Wike say Fubara declaration go strengthen mobilisation of support for President Bola Tinubu second-term bid for 2027 election. ‘E don publicly state say e return to where e start, and we receive am with open mind. Notin to hide. We all go work together to deliver di votes President Tinubu need for im re-election.’
Fubara reconciliation come as Wike lead FCT officials for inspection of major road projects, including ISEX Road Corridor and almost completed Apo-Karshi Road. Dey see as strategic infrastructure wey go unlock development for large sections of di capital.
Wike express satisfaction for progress on ISEX Road, note say work start immediately after President Tinubu flag off di project during di third anniversary commissioning of landmark infrastructure for FCT. Di contractor assure di administration say project go ready for commissioning in December.
Di 10-kilometre road, wey get interchanges, don remain unfinished since dem award am for 2014 through successive administrations. Wike disclose say di contractor undertake to complete six kilometres of di road and key interchanges before end of year, if adequate funding release. ‘We appeal to di Minister of Finance because di project dey captured for national budget. If part of funds dey release, contractor go meet deadline,’ e explain, describing di road as central to transforming di landscape.
Wike say di near completion of Apo-Karshi Road and expected delivery of ISEX Road go mark fulfilment of one of di administration major promises: to complete inherited projects instead of abandon dem. E recall say when Tinubu administration take office for 2023, abandoned projects dey everywhere for di territory, slowing development and denying residents essential infrastructure.
