– At least 10 terrorists have been killed during an intelligence-based military operation in Pakistan‘s southwestern Balochistan province, the army said in a statement.


The army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that security forces carried out an intelligence operation on Tuesday in the Hoshab area of the province.

“While the security forces were in the process of setting up blocking positions after identifying the location of 12 to 14 terrorists, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces,” the ISPR statement said, adding that during the intense exchange In the ensuing gunfire, 10 terrorists were killed. while another was detained in injured condition.

Two terrorists managed to escape and the search operation in the area continues, reported the ISPR.
The slain terrorists were involved in incidents of shooting at security forces and civilians alike, as well as planting improvised explosive devices, it added.
A large cache of weapons and ammunition, including improvised explosive devices, has been recovered from terrorist hideouts.
The Pakistani military said security forces remain determined to thwart attempts to sabotage peace, stability and development in Balochistan. ■
